The pictures don't do it justice, the east side of Glacier was incredibly beautiful and wild. Very few people this time of year. We passed from clouds to sun creating shadows against the mountains. The terrain changed and became drier with more pastures. It is too cold to camp now but it would have been beautiful. Once we traveled east of the mountains it became grassland with no trees in sight and few buildings. You can see for miles. We stopped in Cutbank, Montana for the night. This is a working Montana town. We walked through stores on the way to dinner where they sold saddles, cowboy boots and hats, and heavy duty outdoor clothing. Dinner was in a restaurant/casino with great food and bourbon. We keep travelling east tomorrow. I didn't mention that back in the mountains they get 60 to 90 feet of snow (can you imagine)! They get a lot here too, there are signs for putting chains on and off.
